We own and operate Blue Dragon Naturals in Ganges Village. Our store is dedicated to promoting the use of natural fibres such as hemp, organic cotton, linen and wool. We believe in preserving the environment for future generations and reducing our impact on the Earth.
The decision to settle on Salt Spring was an easy one for our family. It serves as an ideal place to raise our children, foster new friendships and become part of a community. But the obvious beauty that surrounds us is what makes Salt Spring Island special. It is the kind of place that makes people stop and consider how they can also call it home. Although we have lived here for less than two years, it is our home. Profoundly so.
Our house is located half way up Mount Maxwell. We are but a stone's throw away from Maxwell Lake and regular visits to it are part of our routine. We are having tremendous difficulty accepting the idea that logging will occur in this area. It seems a bit surreal.
Can anyone picture a full logging truck weaving its way down Cranberry Road?!?
If Texada is permitted to log the secondary watershed as it intends to do, it will affect all of us. If it happens, we can assure you we will be there in full force.
How about you?
